This project entailed the preparation of an Environmental Impact Statement where SIMCO assisted in the development the Traffic Data Collection Program.
SIMCO performed a Roadway Field Inventory of 20 intersections within the airport and on NYCDOT roadways. Some intersections were counted for Air Quality Analysis and vehicles were classified as Autos, Yellow Cabs, Black Cars, City Buses, Shuttle Buses, trucks, and others. Pedestrians were counted as well.
Dwell times and travel times were recorded at the airport frontages. Delay surveys were completed in and around the airport. Queuing was observed and noted for backups at signalized intersections including any backups onto the Grand Central Parkway. All the data collected was completed in NYCDOT TIMS format.
